Who it's for

Pilates adapts to you

Not every body needs the same thing. Recovery and return, pregnancy or improving athletic performance. At Pilates by Lea-Zoé there are classes that meet you exactly where you are today.

Recovery & return

You want to return safely after tension, back pain or a longer break.

You build stability, control and trust in your movement step by step - at your own pace, without overexertion.

Sport & prevention

You do sport and want to prevent imbalances early.

As a complement to running, strength training, tennis or figure skating - for more stability, better mobility and efficient movement without compensation.

Pregnancy & postpartum

You're pregnant or have just become a mum.

Targeted support before and after birth - focused on breathing, pelvic floor and stability for a safe return to movement.

Method

Six principles - one practice

Joseph Pilates called it Contrology. Today, they are the foundation of every precise movement.

  1. 01

    Breath

Deep lateral rib breathing connects movement to the centre.

  2. 02

    Concentration

Full attention on every movement - no autopilot.

  3. 03

    Centering

Work from the powerhouse: belly, pelvic floor, back.

  4. 04

    Control

Every movement deliberate - momentum replaced by precision.

  5. 05

    Precision

Rather one repetition done right than ten done loosely.

  6. 06

    Flow

Movements connect into one flowing sequence.

From competitive sport

About Lea-Zoé

From competitive sport to precise movement

Fifteen years of figure skating showed me how much a body can achieve - but also how quickly movement turns unhealthy when precision is missing. Pilates changed the way I see training: no longer higher, faster, harder - but more mindful, more controlled, more sustainable.

This is exactly the approach I pass on today: health-oriented Pilates - precise, individual and tuned to your body. I know how it feels when your body no longer keeps up the way it used to - and how much it matters to be well supported in those moments.

My Master's degree in pharmacy at the University of Bern adds solid knowledge of how the body works to this approach. It helps me guide movement on a scientific foundation - especially where the body responds with sensitivity, for example during pregnancy, postnatal recovery or with specific health conditions.

Frequently asked

What you'd want to know before starting

The questions I get most often - answered briefly. Can't find yours? Message me on WhatsApp.

What does my first class look like?

Come 10 minutes early. We'll briefly discuss your goals, any complaints and your experience - then you follow the class, I adapt exercises for you. Comfortable sportswear (leggings, t-shirt). Training equipment and changing facilities are available in the studio.

What does a class cost and what does health insurance reimburse?

Single class CHF 32, 10-class card CHF 240 (CHF 24 per class, reduced CHF 200 for students, apprentices and seniors). Pilates by Lea-Zoé is QualiCert-recognised. How much your insurance reimburses depends on your supplementary plan - the easiest way is to check your insurer's list. I'm happy to provide the receipt for submission.

Am I too unfit, too stiff or too old for Pilates?

No. Foundation and Restore are explicitly for beginners - even if you haven't done sport in years, are returning from a break or feel unsure. Pilates starts with small controlled movements. Exercises can be adapted individually - you start where your body is right now.

I have tension, back problems or movement limitations - is this for me?

Yes. Restore is specifically for people with tension, complaints or movement limitations. Classes are calm, controlled and individually adaptable. You're guided, not overwhelmed. Through my pharmacy studies I can also assess when a concern should be clarified medically and recommend the right specialists if needed.

I'm pregnant or just became a mother - what do I need to know?

For before and after birth there's a dedicated offer with three flexible packages and a separate postnatal recovery course for beginners with no Pilates experience. The method is based on the Art of Motion Bewegte Rückbildung continuing education and complemented by my pharmacy studies - especially in a phase where the body responds with sensitivity.

Where do the classes take place? Where can I park?

Studio: Neumarktstrasse 58, 2503 Biel. About a ten-minute walk (800 m) from Biel train station. By bus around seven minutes: line 9 toward Schulen Linde to Schüsspark (1 min walk), lines 2 and 72 to Diamantstrasse (4 min walk), or all other lines to Zentralplatz (5 min walk). Parking: Kongresshaus garage, 2 min walk, or blue zone (search zone).

Studio in Biel or online - which suits me?

Both give you the same class with me, at the same price. Studio: hands-on correction on site, a fixed appointment as an anchor in your week. Online: maximum flexibility (baby, travel, weather), I see you on camera and cue you in real time. Many switch between the two depending on the week.

What do I need for the online classes?

A quiet corner with about two square metres of space, a mat and optionally small props: resistance band, small ball etc. You just need a stable internet connection and a device with a camera, positioned so I can see you well. We meet on Zoom - you receive the link after booking. I correct you live, you get alternative exercises if something isn't working yet.

How long is my 10-class card valid?

12 weeks from the date of purchase. You can split the classes freely - also several times a week. If you can't make your usual slot one week, you can simply switch to another one. Studio and online are freely combinable. During (school) holidays, the card is extended.

How do I cancel or reschedule a class?

Up to 12 hours before the class, free via SportsNow or WhatsApp. For short-notice issues, contact me directly - we'll find a solution together. Flexibility matters to me: shift workers should be able to train regularly.
